Prior to the second exhibition game for the Winnipeg Jets, head coach Scott Arniel was probably just like a casual fan in one way: curious to see how Jonathan Toews would perform after two seasons away from the game.

“It might not go great for him tonight,” Arniel said prior to the game against the Edmonton Oilers . “It might go awesome for him.”

And what was the final verdict from the man of the hour?

“Some good, some not so good. It is what it is” Toews said postgame. “I felt I made some plays as the game went on. I (was able) to relax a little bit. I think the conditioning is going to come, the jump is going to come, and the timing is going to be there too.”
