BIG RAPIDS- Two Ferris State athletes earned conference-wide honors last week. The GLIAC announced today that Justice Payoute won Player of the Week honors for football and Katherine Welch took home the award for women’s soccer.

Payoute scored a defensive touchdown and was a big reason why Ferris held Rio Grande to just 106 yards of offense Saturday.

Welch helped lead the Bulldogs to back-to-back wins to begin conference play. She had the only assist in a win against Davenport and scored the game-winner against then-unbeaten Purdue Northwest.

The soccer team will look to stay perfect in conference play on the road against Roosevelt on September 28th, while the football team is on a bye before playing Roosevelt on October 4th.
