APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) - A warning for drivers, especially passing through the construction zones, on Interstate 41 from Outagamie County to Brown County.

Both the Wisconsin DOT and state patrol are concerned about the vast number of crashes in work zones, all across the state, some even causing death.

Wisconsin’s Department of Transportation continues to oversee a major rebuild along I-41.

Current construction projects place roadway workers in Appleton and De Pere, where tens of thousands of drivers commute every day.

The DOT looked to send a clear message about keeping their work zones safe.

“I urge every driver, slow down, stay alert, buckle up, put your phone away, every trip, every time,” Tom Buchholz, northeast region director of WisDOT, said.
