SUPERIOR, Wis. (Northern News Now) - U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany announced Tuesday he is running for Wisconsin governor, entering what is expected to be a competitive race in a key battleground state.

The Republican from northwestern Wisconsin said now is the time for him to deliver commonsense policies and lead every corner of the state.

Tiffany, who grew up on a dairy farm and later ran a small business, has represented Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District since winning a special election in 2020 following the resignation of then-Rep. Sean Duffy.

He has since been re-elected three times in the heavily Republican district.

“I see where we are headed and I know we can do better,” Tiffany said in his announcement video.
