Candidates running for three seats on the Nelson County Board of Supervisors addressed taxes, housing, short-term rentals, traffic congestion on Virginia 151 and other topics at a forum Sept. 15 in Afton.

North District candidates Cameron Lenahan, Roy White and Diane Harvey, Central District candidates Ernie Reed and Stephen Bayne and East District Supervisor Jesse Rutherford, who is running for a third term unopposed, took the stage at the Rockfish Valley Community Center to speak on various issues pressing the county board.

Harvey, wife of North District Supervisor Tommy Harvey, whose term expires Dec. 31, announced at the beginning of the forum she was not participating in the forum.
