CHICKASAW, Ala. (WKRG) — After nine months of campaigning, Tyran Colvin is ready to relax — before getting to work as Chickasaw's new mayor-elect. Colvin defeated challenger Bill Vallon in a runoff election on Tuesday night.
Colvin received 55% of the vote to Vallon's 45% to take the top seat. Now, he says he will take a break to rest and celebrate before he takes office on Nov. 3.
"I think the first thing to do is I'm going to go home, take a bath, and eat a bowl of ice cream," he said.
Colvin is a native of Chickasaw and said he knows there are several areas where the city needs to improve.
