Motherwell’s 1-0 Premier Sports Cup quarter-final win over Aberdeen can be a launchpad for a run of wins in the Premiership – starting with the Dons at Fir Park on Saturday.
That’s the hope of Well’s Wishaw-based defender Stephen O’Donnell, who reckons his side might have got the win their recent play has deserved, thanks to Regan Charles-Cook’s superb strike at Pittodrie on Saturday, in front of 1200 Well fans.
The Steelmen – who now face a semi-final against St Mirren on November 1/2 after avoiding the Old Firm in Sunday’s draw – have dominated and been ahead in their last three league games, only to be pegged back and handed a point.
