HOUSTON, Tx. - Rebecca Lawler, a native of Little Elm, Texas, has been named one of NASA’s newest astronaut candidates.
Lawler, 38, is a former lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy and brings an impressive academic and professional background to the role. She holds degrees from the U.S. Naval Academy, Johns Hopkins University, and the National Test Pilot School.
Her selection marks a major milestone in a career that includes military service and advanced aerospace training. Lawler is set to begin astronaut training this year, preparing for future NASA missions.
