A 27-year-old man was charged Tuesday with kidnapping and raping a woman in Irvine.

Edui Yahfet Angeles was charged with kidnapping to commit rape, rape, rape by use of drugs, assault with the intent to commit a sex offense and assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury. Angeles was accused of attacking the woman Oct. 13, according to the criminal complaint.

Angeles did not enter a plea at his arraignment in the jail courtroom on Tuesday. His arraignment was rescheduled for Oct. 14 in the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach.

Further details were not immediately available. An Irvine Police Department representative referred questions to the District Attorney’s Office, which did not respond to a request for information.
