Ideas on how to handle the situation at Mass. and Cass have been circling for years, but none have truly cleaned up the area. While many have been entertained, Boston City Councilor Ed Flynn says he is vehemently against one -- safe injection sites.

The city council will meet at noon Wednesday to discuss safe injection sites -- which are essentially spaces where people who use drugs are provided with sterile drug use equipment and can use illicit drugs under the supervision of trained staff.

Flynn says opening one of these sites in Boston would be detrimental and believes it may actually encourage drug use and incentivize addicts to shoot up rather than seek treatment.
