PROSECUTORS have confirmed the lone murder charge against a man accused of killing a South Tamworth toddler earlier this year.

The now 24-year-old appeared in Tamworth Local Court via video link from a Hunter correctional centre on Wednesday, September 24, where he was told his murder case had been certified for the NSW Supreme Court.

The identity of the two-year-old South Tamworth boy the man is accused of murdering has been suppressed by the court for legal reasons.

The man is accused of killing the toddler on the afternoon of January 24 between 12pm and 4pm .

The boy was found unconscious at the South Tamworth home and despite emergency efforts by police and paramedics who performed CPR, he was rushed to Tamworth hospital where he died a short time later.
