In a festive gesture ahead of Sharadiya Durga Puja, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed that all Odisha government employees receive their September salaries in advance on September 26.

The move aims to ease financial planning for employees as the state gears up for celebrations beginning September 27.

Typically, salaries are disbursed at the end of the month, but with government offices set to remain closed from September 27 for the Puja holidays, the early payment will allow employees to make necessary purchases and participate in the nationwide “Savings Festival” following the GST 2.0 reforms.

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) confirmed the directive, emphasizing the government’s commitment to employee welfare and cultural sensitivity. Tags: advance salary CMO Odisha
