LARGO, Fla. (WFLA) — Teachers in Pinellas County could soon see an average pay increase of 7.79%, officials said Tuesday.
The Pinellas Classroom Teachers Association (PCTA) and Pinellas County Schools on Monday reached a tentative agreement on a new contract, which includes salary increases for teachers and bonuses for other school employees.
Instructional teachers will receive an annual salary increase ranging from 5.07% to 9.26% if the contract receives final approval.
Several other school employees will also see updated supplemental adjustments, supported by a voter-approved referendum, officials said.
That includes a $600 bonus for elementary school safety patrol employees, a $1,500 bonus for middle school band directors, and a $6,000 bonus for head coaches of varsity football team
