It's been a stellar year for Providence restaurant-wise in 2025.

The city had four finalists for James Beard awards , considered the Oscars of the restaurant industry. The James Beard Award for Best Chef: Northeast went to Sky Haneul Kim of Gift Horse . It was the second time in three years that the regional chef award went to a Rhode Island restaurant.
