LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — It was an exciting day for dozens of people who now call the United States their home.
The Las Vegas Raiders helped welcome the country’s newest citizens. 200 people took their oath at their naturalization ceremony at Allegiant Stadium.
Nevada secretary of state Cisco Aguilar was at the ceremony.
He said having people from around the world with different points of view helps our state grow.
“I think here in Nevada, we’re one of the most diverse states in the country. And to know Nevada is a welcoming environment for every new American, we hope to keep them here,” said Aguilar.
“We need that engagement, and we need that new thoughtfulness to exist in our communities,”
The new citizens were also given the opportunity to register to vote at this event.
