Manchester United ’s trip to Brentford on Saturday has been given an extra edge following the fall-out between the two clubs over the summer sale of Bryan Mbeumo .

The lunchtime kick-off sees Mbeumo return to his old club for the first time since his acrimonious £65million - rising to a potential £71m with add-ons - move to United.

Mbeumo completed his move on July 21, but the switch was overshadowed by a row between the two clubs, with United accusing Brentford of trying to drive up the forward’s price, as well as asking him to lower his wage demands to enable them to command a bigger transfer fee.
