WARWICK – A 62-year-old Monroe woman has been arrested stemming from a 2024 animal abuse case in Warwick in which 106 animals were rescued from a residence on Old Dutch Hollow Road and now, an additional 84 animals were rescued from the same location.
Linda Hickey was charged with animal abuse.
While Orange County Sheriff’s investigators were on the driveway of the home waiting to arrest Hickey, they smelled a strong odor of animal urine and feces. They obtained a search warrant and seized 66 animals including rabbits, geese, parrots, a racoon, tortoises, prairie dogs, a starling, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, hamsters, ferrets, degus, a goat, bearded dragons, a snake, a hermit crab, a tarantula, peacocks, a wallaby, dogs, ducks, and cats, all showing signs of neglect.
