Detectives are on the hunt for machete-wielding thugs and two stolen cars after a string of terrifying home invasions in Perth’s northern suburbs.
Police said a group of masked men — wearing dark clothing and balaclavas — were behind a series of burglaries in Butler and Ocean Reef starting in the early hours of Wednesday.
A spokeswoman said detectives from the rapid apprehension squad were now searching for two stolen vehicles taken from separate homes.
About 4.30am police were first alerted to reports of two men inside a home on Soham Way in Butler.
The men, carrying machetes, stole a set of car keys then departed in a stolen white Toyota Corolla sedan with WA registration 1HOK709.
Ten minutes later, police were called to a home on Millom Street where a car was rammed into a garage d
