BGSU football jumping into MAC play with stern test at defending champ Ohio

BOWLING GREEN — Eddie George has a lot of respect for Bowling Green State University’s upcoming opponent on the football field.

At the end of the day, however, the Falcons’ head coach doesn’t necessarily want to make opening Mid-American Conference play with defending league champion Ohio a bigger deal than it is.

“It’s the next team on our schedule,” George said with a laugh when asked if it’s a good thing being tested this early in MAC play. “I think it’s good that you see a quality opponent, certainly early on in the MAC schedule.

“It’ll set the tone moving forward. A lot of ball has to be played between now and November, but they’re very talented. They’re the defending champions, and this will be our first real big test in terms of in conference, on the road, coming off of last week
