The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted offensive lineman Nate Herbig for a visit on Tuesday. Herbig suddenly retired in July, so this is a surprise visit for the Steelers. The interest in Herbig comes after depth offensive lineman Max Scharping suffered a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season.
The Washington Commanders signed Herbig this offseason to a one-year deal. Herbig missed all of last season after suffering a torn rotator cuff, and now will look towards his post-playing career. The brother of Steelers outside linebacker Nick Herbig , Nate played two seasons with the Steelers after coming over from the New York Jets.
