ST. LOUIS - St. Louis leaders are considering adding new restrictions on the use of golf carts in the city.
According to our partners at the Post Dispatch, the proposed legislation, introduced by Alderman Matt Devoti, aims to ban golf carts from driving or parking on sidewalks.
The measure was proposed due to an increased use of golf carts in St. Louis neighborhoods, such as Soulard and The Hill.
Under the proposed legislation, golf cart drivers will be required to be at least 16 years old, possess a valid driver's license, and travel at speeds of 25 miles per hour or less.
Similar measures have been enacted in nearby areas, including Webster Groves, Florissant, St. Charles, and Maryland Heights.
