The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a high alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall across Odisha beginning September 25, as a low-pressure area forms over the central Bay of Bengal.

According to the IMD forecast:

A low-pressure system is expected to form by September 25.

It may intensify into a depression by September 26.

The system is likely to cross South Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh by September 27, bringing widespread rainfall.
