On Wednesday at 8:10 a.m. a special weather statement was issued by the National Weather Service until 10 a.m. for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.

"Patchy, dense fog has developed across parts of the Lower Hudson Valley and interior southern Connecticut this morning. Fog is mainly in river valleys. Visibility may be reduced to below a quarter mile, in spots. Fog is expected to clear over the next few hours. Motorists within these locations this morning should proceed with extra caution and be prepared for rapid changes in visibility. Use low beam headlights and allow for extra space between vehicles," describes the weather service.
