The new Minister for the Economy and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs), Samuel Poulin, begins his term with one idea in mind: “the government must get out of the way of businesses.”

“I would like to see, in 12 months, we have truly made life easier for as many entrepreneurs as possible,” he declared in a feature interview with The Canadian Press at a café on Saint-Jean Street in Quebec City.

The 34-year-old MNA for Beauce-Sud, however, says he is aware of the “clock ticking away”: after all, there are only seven months of parliamentary work left before a general election in Quebec.
