MADISON, Wis. — The UW-Madison Police Department on Wednesday cleared the scene after asking the public to avoid the area of Johnson Street and Wisconsin Avenue due to reports of a man with a knife in the vicinity.
UWPD cleared the scene at roughly 9:11 a.m., advising people they can return to their normal activities.
Police continued to search the area, as indicated by a BadgerSAFE WISC Alert sent at 9:06 a.m. Wednesday.
The first BadgerSAFE WISC Alert was originally sent out around 8:44 a.m.
Police have not released a description of the man or the circumstances surrounding the incident.
