MADISON, Wis. — UW Health and the Madison Metropolitan School District are partnering for two years to provide strength and conditioning coaches at the four public Madison high schools.
The program places nationally certified UW Health coaches at each school to work with student-athletes across all sports, providing hands-on coaching.
Coaches and athletes will develop training plans and follow-up, depending on the sport and students' availability.
“It’s really all about making sure the students have the guidance they need to get the best out of themselves, regardless of their age or ability level,” said Romaric Setodji, UW Health strength and conditioning coach working with West High School.
The program will also emphasize the importance of good nutrition and getting adequate sleep, tw
