Footage of PC Perry Lathwood and other officers grabbing hold of Jocelyn Agyemang, who was with her young son, on Whitehorse Road, Croydon, in July 2023 was shared widely on social media.

PC Lathwood, 51, was initially found guilty of common assault but last September his conviction was quashed on appeal at Southwark Crown Court.

The officer now faces a two-day gross misconduct hearing which will begin on October 13.

The notice of the hearing states: “It is alleged that on July 21, 2023, PC Perry Lathwood was on duty supporting Transport for London revenue protection inspectors.

“A female who had been travelling on a bus was asked to show a valid ticket for her journey but did not show her ticket.
