NEW DELHI: Punjab has scripted a new chapter in public welfare by turning technology into its strongest weapon. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the state has become the first in India to launch Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based devices for the detection of breast cancer, cervical cancer, and eye disorders.

The historic program was formally inaugurated at the Chandigarh Municipal building by Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, who said that while cancer remains one of the deadliest diseases, AI-powered early detection will give society a new shield of protection. The government has set an ambitious target of 600 eye screenings and 300 breast and cervical cancer screenings daily.
