AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The community is still trying to recover after a new murder at Augusta Mall, followed by a retaliation shooting hours later on Druid Park Avenue .

The mall reopened Wednesday, less than 24 hours after the slaying at the bottom of some escalators.

But the problem of youth violence lingers, and the memory of Tuesday will likely haunt mall workers who once again hid in back rooms – something that’s getting to be a problem at the mall that’s dealt with several shootings since 2020.
