COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Muscogee County Sheriff Greg Countryman officially introduced their deputy mascot after holding a naming contest that allowed the youth to decide.

Countryman announced the official results Monday evening and introduced the mascot as "Deputy Scogee Bear."

The mascot was officially introduced at the Columbus City Council meeting, where Deputy Scogee was able to do a first-hand meet and greet, while taking photos with the kids.

Countryman says the first-place winner who picked the name, "Scogee the Bear," was 9-year-old Loghan Cutter, who received $300.

The second-place winner was for the name, "Deputy Beariff," which was 11-year-old Micah Cameron who got $200, while the third-place winner for the name "Deputy Honey Paws" was 7-year-old Brantley Ingram who took home
