From Oprah to Axios, Katie Couric to CNN, Ms. to NPR, stories are popping up about proposed state laws regarding menopause.
New Jersey and other states have introduced so-called “menopause awareness and support” bills, but the spin that it’s a growing movement may be, well, just spin.
It’s certainly the narrative promoted by members of Let’s Talk Menopause (LTM), a project funded by companies that sell menopausal hormone treatments. Most of the articles about proposed menopause laws are either written by or feature Let’s Talk Menopause members – many of whom have substantial individual conflicts of interest as well.
