The Nevada Ethics Commission voted 4-2 on Sept. 23, to dismiss two ethics complaints filed against Reno City Council member Devon Reese.
"I am very grateful to have been adjudicated as having been innocent," Reese told the RGJ after the meeting.
Two complaints were filed against Reese in March and April 2024 alleging Reese filed “false, fraudulent expense reports” to the city for personal travel.
Executive Director Ross Armstrong said the evidence revealed that the travel days for which Reese got reimbursed were for city business and that the commission did not need to set a hearing for this case.
“I came to the conclusion that there was appropriate justification for the travel that was in question and the reimbursements that were made,” Armstrong said.
