MICHIGAN CITY — The parent company of Blue Chip Casino recently experienced a "cybersecurity incident" that saw an unauthorized third-party extract data from its internal computer systems, including information about employees.

Boyd Gaming Corp. told federal regulators Tuesday it's in the process of notifying employees and other individuals affected by the data breach.

"Upon detecting the incident, the company promptly took steps to respond to the incident with the assistance of leading external cybersecurity experts and in cooperation with federal law enforcement authorities," Boyd Gaming said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
