BURNS HARBOR — A Burns Harbor man was arrested Wednesday and faces multiple felony charges following a lengthy investigation into child exploitation activities, the Indiana State Police said Wednesday in a news release.
Authorities arrested 36-year-old Timothy John Olson after a probe that began in Illinois in 2024. The State’s Attorney’s Office in Lake County, Illinois, initiated the investigation after receiving multiple online tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding several Kik Messenger accounts. As the investigation unfolded, officials learned Olson was residing in Burns Harbor, prompting the case to be transferred to the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.
