KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A 20-year-old Kingston woman is facing multiple charges after a Tennessee Department of Transportation work truck was struck in an active construction zone.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to a crash on I-40 W near Papermill Drive around 9:30 p.m. on Monday, where a TDOT work truck had been hit from behind in a construction zone with workers present.
Lauren Dixon was arrested at the scene following a field sobriety test. THP troopers searched the vehicle and discovered an open bottle of vodka and a burnt marijuana cigarette, according to court records.
Charges include DUI, underage driving while impaired, reckless endangerment, simple possession, and violating the Move Over Law. She is scheduled to be arraigned in court on November 3.
