NEW YORK CITY — On the 24th anniversary of the attacks, the Brooklyn Bar Association (BBA) provided an exclusive and intimate tour of the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, located at 180 Greenwich Street in lower Manhattan.

Taking place on the afternoon of Sept. 15, and led by museum docent Diane Golkin, mother of BBA President Christina Golkin, who was both soft-spoken and informative in her approach, it was a heartfelt and emotionally powerful experience.

The lighting was warm and dim, no doubt by design, and all conversations were kept to a whisper throughout the tour.

While Golkin often discussed the horror of the attacks, she also carefully balanced her narrative with stories of sacrifice and heroism on behalf of first responders.
