TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV/Gray Florida Capital Bureau) - People will be allowed to openly carry a gun across Florida on Friday.
That’s the deadline for the state to appeal a court ruling overturning the state’s open carry ban.
Attorney General James Uthmeier says he isn’t going to file the repeal.
That’s because he supports people being allowed to carry a gun. However, there are still some limitations.
“I warn people in Florida, you cannot take weapons into a school, you cannot take firearms out in public in a way that’s threatening, harassing, or might endanger others. Just because you have this right, doesn’t mean you have to use it if you’re not trained or equipped, if you don’t know how to use it,” Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said.
