PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — After the Tigard mayor’s sudden exit, the city is seeking a long-term replacement.
At a meeting on Tuesday, the Tigard City Council decided to choose an existing council member as their next leader. Councilor Jeanette Shaw and Councilor Yi-Kang Hu both expressed interest in the role.
The push to fill the vacancy comes about two weeks after Heidi Lueb resigned, effective immediately. In a statement posted to her website, the former mayor cited a decline in her physical and mental health — along with internal troubles at city hall.
