LAFAYETTE, Ind. — A 19-year-old man is receiving treatment at an Indianapolis hospital after a motorcycle crash in Tippecanoe County.

Sheriff's deputies were called just after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday to the 4800 block of Old State Road 231 in Lafayette for a motorcycle crash. Upon arrival, they found a 19-year-old male suffering from a broken arm and a broken leg.

Authorities said the 19-year-old was flown via lifeline to a hospital in Indianapolis. He is reportedly seriously injured.

Witnesses on scene told police that the 19-year-old was driving a motorcycle and "speeding and passing vehicles" when he lost control. The bike and driver reportedly rolled "a few times" before crashing into a tree line near McCutcheon High School.
