HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- While Canadian tourism remains down in Myrtle Beach, one citizen and part-time city resident said they're thinking about selling their winter home because of disrespectful comments by American politicians.
Canadians have told News13 in the past that the U.S. economy and tariffs have played a role in why some are no longer visiting, but Chris Bowie said heated rhetoric by officials including President Trump have led them to do even more.
"Like anything, if you're not treated very nicely, you just don't want to spend your money there. So, I think that's the main reason why a lot of Canadians have just decided not to go south," Bowie said.
