MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Though it's still unclear in what capacity the National Guard would serve in Memphis, when and if they join 22 federal agencies under the "Memphis Safe Task Force" plan, the Shelby County Government said drivers may experience checkpoints across Memphis.

"National Guard checkpoints in other cities have caused concern and disrupted daily routines. With similar plans expected in Memphis, staying informed, supporting each other, and communicating openly can help us stay strong and resilient," the Shelby County Government said in a social media post.
