HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) - Hendersonville is moving forward with plans to rebuild its Patton Pool and Whitmire Activity Center after they were significantly damaged by Hurricane Helene.

During a community meeting, developers presented two design proposals for each facility, with costs ranging from $3 million to $49 million, depending on the options chosen.

"It's really mind boggling and very intimidating to look at all the numbers and, and to not have any assurances from the government right now on what's going to be reimbursed," said Mayor Pro Tem Jennifer Hensley.

The Whitmire Activity Center proposals include shuffleboard courts, a picnic center, and reduced flood risk areas, with options costing around $3 to $7 million.
