ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The trial continues for a man accused of killing an 8-year-old in 2020 on Wednesday.
Julian Conley faces several charges, including murder. He has pleaded not guilty.
Conley’s attorneys rested their case Wednesday afternoon after calling their witness to the stand. The woman, who didn’t want to be identified, was an activist and testified about who she saw the night of the incident.
Closing arguments are expected to start on Thursday morning.
According to prosecutors and police, Secoriea Turner and her mother were driving home on July 4, 2020, when they were met with a barricade by the southwest Atlanta Wendy’s where a police officer shot and killed Rayshard Brooks the month before .
