Catherine West will step down as the chair of Nine Entertainment Co.
She is also set to resign as a non-executive director with the company, having advised the Nine Entertainment board of her decision, a statement from the media outlet said on Thursday.
Ms West, who has served on the board since 2016, described her time being part of the company's leadership as a "privilege".
"Nine is part of Australia’s fabric and plays a critical role in preserving our democracy, nurturing our culture and shaping our national identity," she said in a statement.
"I am proud to have successfully led the company through a transformational period."
Nine independent non-executive director Peter Tonagh will take up the role after the Nine Annual General Meeting on November 7.
