An investigation has been launched amid allegations a contractor working on the NT Government’s troubled Acacia IT project was bullied and harassed before his sudden death last month.

Shaun Joyce’s family say he was trying to lead a team that was constantly overworked and burnt out in the months before he died, as they tried to implement the $320 million IT system in NT hospitals that was running several years over time and tens of millions of dollars over budget.

But his attempts to warn his superiors about the devastating impact of their demands fell on deaf ears in a “toxic” department where “deliverables” were put ahead of people.
