HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Stretches of 5th Avenue and side streets on Huntington’s west end were covered in water on Wednesday, leaving drivers stranded in the middle of the road.
People who live and work in the city are used to the flooding and say it can happen in a matter of minutes.
“If it rains hard for an hour, there’s gonna be problems out there,” said Andrew Leonhart, a business owner in Huntington. “You can just tell because of the way it dips down at 25th Street, all the water from a block east and a block west seems to congregate right there.”
Leonhart, who has owned Thunder Athletics since 2009, said driving is always a concern when rain comes down.
