SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The summer drought spell hasn’t stopped Honey Do Produce from opening their stand this year.
Dakota Saunders, owner of Honey Do Produce, said the lack of water doesn’t just affect the produce.
“So, it’s not just something that is affecting the produce itself,” Saunders said. “It’s kind of coming in as you know a root type issue, so it’s affecting our pollinators, the wildlife in the area. We’ve had issues just kind of all around because of the lack of water.”
To be able to get their plants water, Saunders said they have a system.
“So, we put irrigation out, so that’s basically just a water line that feeds into your plants that will help them stay over until we can get some more rain,” she said.
