PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - The heart of construction season continues as the City of Peoria works on multiple road projects.
Eight major projects are currently underway across the city, including the second phase to convert Adams and Jefferson from one-way back to two-way roadways. Other projects include Moss Avenue and MacArthur Highway.
This year, the city budgeted around $60 million for these projects alone.
“The purpose of many of these projects is to improve safety accommodations for not only the motoring public. Whether it’s new traffic signals, pedestrian accommodations. Like here on Jefferson Avenue and Adams Street,” said Peoria Public Works Communications Specialist Nick McMillion.
