The final phase of a multimillion-dollar project to fully establish Saint Gertrude High School at its Goochland campus has just been completed.
Construction on a roughly $4 million, 2,600-square-foot chapel was completed earlier this month as the final phase of the Catholic all-girls’ school’s move to the campus from its former home in Richmond’s Museum District.
The newly built chapel, which officially opened in mid-September, has such features as a vaulted blue ceiling with Romanesque barrel vaults and groin vaults, Italian marble floors, and acoustic panels wrapped in fabric that features Catholic symbols.
The lead architect on the project was Lori Garrett, president of Glavé & Holmes Architecture, while construction was headed up by John Locher,
