PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - It’s been over 30 years since the United States Air Force Thunderbirds have been in Pueblo, but this coming weekend, they’ll be performing at Pueblo Memorial Airport in the Pueblo Wings of Pride air show.

On Wednesday afternoon, all of the eight Thunderbirds touched down in Pueblo and 11 News spoke with Thunderbird 1 ahead of the show.

Thunderbird 1 and Commander Leader of the Thunderbirds Nathan Malafa tells 11 News these shows are about more than just flying jets, saying, “One of my favorite things at the air show is after we put on a fantastic show and display, we land, we come back, shut down and we get to go interact with the crowd.
